Introducing your Guide
Greg Land
I am a born
and bred South African. I grew up in Durban, which is a medium sized city with a
climate similar to Florida’s, situated on the east coast of SA. Durban is
famous for good surfing and was home to Shaun Thomson, world surfing champion in the old
days. I now live in Vero Beach, Florida.
I am an industry veteran with 18 years of experience in the international citrus industry. My first 7 years experience was in South Africa as a technical advisor and then as an Area Extension Manager with Outspan International.
Outspan
International used to be the single channel citrus marketing, research and
technical body in SA before deregulation in the mid 1990’s.
During the last 11 years in the USA, I have worked with USA based citrus marketing companies on domestic and export marketing programs.
Since 2000, I
have worked
exclusively on international citrus procurement and marketing programs. I have been involved in the South African citrus import program
since the USA market first opened to South African fruit back in the late
1990’s.
As Your Guide -
I will leverage my relationships and close contacts in the SA industry to get you exclusive ‘Insider Access’ to some of the best and most innovative citrus researchers in the world. I will also introduce you to some of the top growers in the SA citrus industry.
You will get a chance to compare
notes and experiences with them, as well as visit their orchards and packing house
operations.

passion for South Africa, its people and the great outdoors. I look forward to
